Scientism refers to the methods and attitudes typical of or attributed to the natural scientist.
It reflects an exaggerated trust in the efficacy of the methods of natural science applied to all areas of investigation.

Scientism essentially omits the fact that scientifically obtained knowledge is probabilistic. As such, it treats established theories more as dogmas rather than most plausible theory given the data.
